"Pomodoro Technique"

a time-management method created in the 1980s by Francesco Cirillo. He used a little tomato-shaped kitchen timer while studying — and the name stuck.

It’s a simple focus system built around short, timed work sessions:

  1. Work for 25 minutes → one “Pomodoro”
  2. Take a 5-minute break
  3. After 4 Pomodoros, take a longer break (15–30 min)

Why it works so well

People use it for studying, coding, writing, admin work — basically anything that benefits from structured focus.
